OUR TYPICAL WEBSITE DESIGN PROCESS AND METHODOLOGY
Many times prospective clients ask us to explain how the process of designing there website will go so we have provided these steps to give you an idea of how our design project process typically goes. Every client and project is different but these are the basic steps you can expect to follow.

The Quote:

1. A new leads comes in typically word-of-mouth or via the web.

2. Soon after we plan to either meet the client in person or with speak with them over the phone about their project in order to collect as much information as possible. During this initial meeting we like to gain a sound understanding of the goals the client has and basic scope of the work to be done.

3. The next step is project research. Given requirements we like to then decide what might be the best solution. This includes not just the design recommendations, but also which software applications, such as a shopping cart, or content management system, would best fit the requirements for this particular client.

4. Draft a project quote and contract to be sent to the client. This documents all work to be completed in depth, includes our price for the project based on our time estimates and software needs. This document will also include a proposed time line with a launch date and of course all of our legal terms and conditions. Our time lines typically detail which parts of a project will be done each different week for the duration of the project. Most clients feel more comfortable with this because it gives them the ability to track our progress.

5. Up till this point we have done all of this in the course of few days to a week. Sometimes our clients approve our quotes quickly, other times we are up against several others. In other cases some clients come back to us months later to initiate

The Project:

1. Once we have a signed quote back from a client we schedule a start date and a kick off meeting.

2. A member of our creative team will then create multiple (usually two) design concepts to share with the client.

3. We then make revisions to our original mock-ups based on client input. This is often the most time consuming part of each project given the subjective nature of designs and concepts.

4. Once the client signs off on the design and delivers all collateral, imagery, copy, etc, we can begin setting up the website. We configure the web hosting, and email hosting on our web servers, and secure a domain name if necessary. Once this is complete we can begin developing the website.

5. Web development is the process where we take the graphic mockups and actually transform them into HTML page. At this stage we also begin to integrate all dynamic website elements, and perform any software integrations. This could be the addition of a content management system that allows the client to update the content of the website, or perhaps add a forum, a blog, or shopping cart to the website. In some, more complex cases xml data feeds are incorporated to use content from elsewhere on the web.

6. After the site has been built we will install analytics on your website. Analytics are the statistical programs that will track the number of visitors that come to your site, what they are looking for and most importantly if they buy something or contact you.

7. If search engine optimization was part of the initial project we would at this point begin the keyword research and start optimizing each page of your website.

8. The only thing left to do is to set your newly designed website live on the web.

Post Launch:

1. Soon after the launch is the best time to start a new search marketing campaign. We also specialize in managing paid search campaigns for many of our clients.

2. We can make recommendations based on analytics data that begins to accumulate. Also we can suggest user interface tweaks that may improve the user experience of your website.

3. Continue efforts to optimize your new site for search engines. This is an on going process as we discover which search terms that people use to find your website best convert to paying customers for you.
